TEACHING PREVENTION 2008, the annual meeting of the Association of Prevention Teaching and Research will bring together educators from across the health professions to tackle issues and challenges of interprofessional education and explore ways to incorporate health promotion and disease prevention into the basic curriculum.

This premiere event will be held in conjunction with Preventive Medicine 2008, the annual meeting of the American Colleges of Preventive Medicine.

TEACHING PREVENTION 2008 exciting sessions include:

    Examine interprofessional medical care today and the positive impact interprofessional education and practice have on patient safety and quality of care.

  • Community Engagement in Research Arena: NIH-CTSA meets CDC
    Review community-based participatory research and its relation to traditional clinical research and the approaches taken by several academic centers to enhance community engagement and participation in research

  • Prevention and Population Health Sciences Education
    How do we collaberatively teach prevention and public health to students?.

  • National Panel on Public Health Credentialing and Accreditation
    Examine the controversies surrounding accrediting academic institutions, Health Departments, and Public Health practitioners

  • Undergraduate Public Health Education
    From Getting Started to Best Practices - Review of activities in Undergraduate Public Health Education and resources of integrating and teaching public health at the undergraduate level.
