Workshop objectives include:
- Describe productive and valid ways of measuring the impact of community-engaged research.
- Exchange outcome evaluation ideas and methodology with others.
- Learn how to incorporate community-based outcomes into evaluation plans.
- Analyze whether or not standard measures of health are appropriate and what innovative measures are needed to assess success.
- Discuss how to merge traditional medical outcome evaluation and public health evaluation techniques.
- Discuss the role of the community-engaged research in the transition to new models of care.
Pre-reading of selected materials will be requested of attendees. The agenda will focus heavily on group discussion and break out sessions. Community partners interested in evaluation strategies are highly encouraged to attend!
Limited travel scholarships are available for members of community organizations.
