Workshop summary:

The Office of Public Health Practice at Loma Linda University is hosting a workshop titled Partners for Health: Communities and Researchers Working Together as a practical application post-conference workshop to Loma Linda University, School of Public Health’s annual Health People conference.  This workshop will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 immediately following the 2 days Health People Conference. This event is one of six regional workshops being held throughout the nation. The workshop will facilitate dialogue between community partners who will be involved as participants, presenters and academia. Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR), the sponsoring organization strives to redefine how future health professions workforce is educated. With this in mind, the workshop takes a closer look at the Community-Based Participatory Research model (CBPR) as a means to bring about social change for the betterment of individuals and the health of the public.
