APTR is pleased to make available the Interprofessional Education Assessment and Planning Instrument for Academic Institutions. The instrument is designed with an emphasis on prevention and will assist institutions in assessing where they are in the development of Interprofessional Education on their respective campuses. The first part of the instrument measures interprofessional education, and the second part measures prevention education.
The Interprofessional Education Assessment and Planning Instrument for Academic Institutions was developed for APTR by Maria Clay PhD and Annette Greer, PhD, MSN, RN of East Carolina University with the assistance of APTR member experts. Funding was provided through the APTR Cooperative Agreement with the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The instrument was pilot-tested by experts in interprofessional education and prevention. During the phase I pilot-test, members of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative (AIHC) reviewed the interprofessional section of the instrument and offered comments. During the phase II pilot-test, APTR members with a long history of implementing successful prevention training into the curricula of their various health professions schools reviewed and commented on the prevention section.
Efforts are being made to track the development and expansion of interprofessional training initiatives across the country. Therefore, individuals who wish to obtain a copy of the instrument are asked to provide their basic contact information – name, institutional affiliation, and email address. Upon providing the required information, you will be directed to a PDF copy of the instrument. To obtain a copy, click here.
